Today: Florida State Parks on the Air

Today from 1400-2200Z, I’ll be operating at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, as part of the inaugural Florida State Parks on the Air event. The FLSPOTA designation for this park is “LOU” and the WWFF designation is KFF-1893.

According to their website, the purpose of this event is to:

  • Promote public awareness of ham radio and Florida’s state parks system
  • Contribute to the recognition and appreciation of Florida’s diverse ecology
  • Encourage camaraderie and sportsmanship among Florida’s Amateur Radio Operators, and
  • Provide a venue for Florida amateurs to get out and enjoy operating in the great outdoors.

I will be operating on 20 meter phone. There will be one or two other operators with me with their own equipment. I will post specific frequencies on my Twitter feed.

QSLing for this event will be handled like any other day on the radio: I’ll upload to LoTW/QRZ/WWFF within 24 hours and I will mail QSLs within 7 days as long as your QRZ page doesn’t say not to.

73s and see you on the air!
