Recap: Florida State Parks on the Air

What a fun, but long day!

Today was the inaugural Florida State Parks on the Air event. We (myself and Anson, WU2F) activated Lake Louisa State Park outside of Clermont, FL. We also had Noah, a friend not yet licensed, as help. We worked 20 meter phone. In total, we made 158 contacts.

Personally, I made 92 contacts in the US and 5 other countries. Conditions were in and out all day.

We shared my 450D and ran it at 100W into a G5RV Jr suspended between two trees about 20′ off the ground.

This was my first large-scale radio event/contest and was a good test run ahead of my first time participating in Field Day.

Thank you to the WWFF/FLSPOTA chasers and incidental contacts!
